A Magnetic Bomb Detector System based on Smartphones

Magnetic bombs represent a great threat that targeting the civilians. Magnetic bombs are a type of Improvised Explosives Devices (IED's) made by special bombers for targeting multiple targets as in vehicle and tanks bombs. The magnetic bombs (also called sticky bombs) uses a magnet to stick on the vehicle metal. The magnet in the magnetic bomb is strong and the effect of this magnet can be detected by using the magnetic sensor devices.In modern smartphones, many devices are built in to achieve multiple objectives or add extra functionalities to these devices. Many applications use the smartphone's sensors to sense the environment and produces this information in a numerical form. One of the smartphone's sensors that are built in is the magnetic sensor. A magnetic sensor inside the smartphone is used to detect the magnetic field of objects or detect the earth magnetic field. Due to the existing magnet, the magnet in magnetic bomb changes the magnetic field around and inside the vehicle metal. This change can be detected by using the smartphone magnetic sensor.
