A Hero and An Anti-Hero

In the modern world, different kinds of power are ruling people¿s minds. Based on Foucault¿s theories in his Discipline and Punish, after 18th century, physical punishment is banished and surveillance replaced it. But he believes that where there is power, resistance is bound to be there. So in this book, with considering Foucault¿s Discipline and Punish as the theoretical framework, George Orwell¿s 1984 and Ken Kesey¿s One Flew Over the Cuckoös Nest are analyzed with the aim of making the readers aware of the hidden powers which are ruling their minds and lives. For this end, the book sheds light on two kinds of character, one of them a hero and one of them an anti-hero of our resistance story, in order to show two sides of the same coin.
