A Hand Book for Educators in Early Childhood Care and Education

This book is intended to serve as a guide to all professional educators of early childhood care and education. It has tried to explain the essence/importance of play in the emotional, cognitive, physical, moral/ spiritual and social development of the preschool child. It talks of the various ways/methods and approaches to teaching and learning of pupils. This book explains and brings out the importance of play in the holistic development of the preschool child. The preschool child should no longer be a passive learner/receiver of knowledge and information but must be encouraged to explore and be inventors through directions and support of the educator. The preschool child's awareness of himself/herself and his/her curiosity must be awaken to lay the stronger foundation for further learning.
