A challenge to EPI program

Unfortunately, in this era of advanced medical science, Pakistani children are still fighting battle against vaccine avertable diseases. Besides frequent EPI immunization campaigns and efforts for achieving immunization coverage, Pakistan still reported 281 outbreaks and 321 deaths because of measles in 2013. This study is conducted To estimate the proportion of health facilities in compliance with vaccine storage guidelines for EPI vaccines. this study used to identify factors associated with meeting compliance with storage guidelines.study used to asses knowledge of the person responsible for vaccines storage and handling. While there are many researches which are investigating the issues regarding the proper storage of vaccines there is a scarcity of local studies on the practices of healthcare givers regarding vaccine storage and handling as the large amount of focus was placed on achieving immunization coverage rather than vaccine efficacy therefore this study would be helpful to fill the gaps in the existing literature and would develop an insight regarding proper maintenance of vaccine storage conditions and its handling in Pakistani context.
