A Case Study on Bibliometric Analysis

Bibliometric analysis has now become a well established part of information research. So far no such compressive study on the literature use pattern by researchers in Sri Venkateswara University has been made. Hence, with a view to provide some basic information about the characteristics of literature used by the engineering scholars in Sri Venkateswara University, the present study is undertaken. An attempt has been made to study the characteristics of subject literature cited by researchers of Engineering in their Ph.D. works submitted to Sri Venkateswra University, Tirupati. The results and discussion with regard to different aspects are presented for Engineering as a whole and also for the sub-disciplines of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
