Turkey's Environment Policy & EU Accession:Long Expected Regulations

Turkey, a country with important natural resources, socio-cultural potential, as well as young and dynamic population, has to overcome a number of challenges to ensure environment and sustainable development. Reflections on the developments in environmental policies over the world and the acceleration of Turkey¿s EU harmonization efforts have brought a different dimension to the process of EU Accession. Within this context, the current situation of Turkey in the field of environment, the EU harmonization process within the framework of the EU Environment Acquis and its environmental vision of sectorial priorities, policies and applications in this area are the main focus of the book. The country's expected future environmental requirements, research on the implementation of the regulations in compliance with EU Environment Acquis have been contextualized as an environmental benchmark of (the EU).
