Tumor Markers in Patients Visiting An Urban Hospital in Kathmandu

This book describes the few serum level of tumor marker¿s like PSA, CEA, AFP and CA125 by immunoenzymetric assay (Magnetic solid phase).Out of 142 hospital attendants, 30 patients were for PSA.49 for CEA, 52 for CA125 and 11 sample for AFP test.Among 142 patients the higher number of hospital attendant were age group 51-60 years and lowest were age group 81-90 years.There are 5 (16.6%) sample was found to be positive and 25 (83.34%) sample was found within noimal range during analysis of PSA sample.The maximum frequency with age group 71-80 years and minimum frequency with age group 31-40 years was found.Out of 49 CEA sample,21(42.85%) sample has high value and 28 (47.15%) sample value were within normal range.The highest frequency with age group was 41-50 years and minimum frequency with age group 81-90 years.In case of CA125 sample which is 52, there only 5 (9.62%) sample were found to be positive and 47 (90.38%) sample value were within the normal range. The highest frequency with age group 31-40 years and minimum frequency with age group 71-80 years were found.The highest frequency with age group 20-30 years and minimum frequency with age group 51-60 and 61-70 years were found.
