Triazatruxenes, Smart Molecules

This book presents the discovering of the Triazatruxene (triindole) molecule, identifies its structure, and describes all the possible ways of its synthesis and structures of all currently known liquid crystals based on Triazatruxene (triindole), including the proof of its electro active properties. Triazatruxene is a smart molecule that has been discovered in the last fourteen years as a discotic liquid crystal compound. Recently, this electron-rich molecule became more interesting as a central core in the construction of discotic liquid crystals with an electro active properties that proved a stable hexagonal columnar mesophase over a wide range of temperatures. Moreover, many other properties in this soft material raised a wide interest in organic electronic technology devices such as organic light emitting diodes (OLED), field effect transistors (FET), photovoltaic cells (PVC),...etc. In this book, triazatruxene and all derivatives that has been synthesized in the last fourteen years including their applications will present.
