Treatment techniques for Textile Effluent

Water is one of the vital requirements for existence of life but addition of foreign material from different industrial sources may lead to its contamination. Textile industry is one of the major contributors to water pollution. The discharge of textile effluent is posing serious threats as the dyes are persistent to environment and prove to be toxic and mutagenic to aquatic life. Therefore, elimination of such dyes from textile effluents is of considerable interest and importance. Hence the textile effluents should be effectively treated before final disposal. This book is based on different techniques (electrochemical, sono-electrochemical, thermal pressure hydrolysis, photocatalytic, and sono-photocatalytic) for degradation and decolorization of textile reactive dye (Reactive Blue 19).
