Transformations in Architectural Aesthetics:

This book is a thesis that was submitted for the Master¿s Degree in Architectural Engineering at the University of Jordan in May, 2009. The book explores the transformations in Architectural Aesthetics: From ¿Ornament¿ to ¿Materiality¿ by tracing these transformations from the earliest writings in Architecture right into the Twentieth and Twenty- First Centuries. It analyzes in depth the concept of "Materiality" in a trial to map out its historical and theoretical background in order to understand its manifestation in Contemporary Architecture. An analytical Methodology is used to interpret the phenomenon of ¿Materiality in Architecture¿ following a relative analogical analysis provided by Oleg Grabar, in his book ''The Mediation of Ornament'' (Princeton University Press, 1989).
