Tibia Plateau Fractures treated with Locking Plate from Lateral Aspect

The tibial plateau is one of the most critical load bearing areas in the human body; fractures of the plateau affect knee alignment, stability, and motion. Early detection and appropriate treatment of these fractures are critical for minimizing patient disability and reducing the risk of documented complications. The development of locking implants has allowed the use of minimally invasive approaches after allowing unilateral plating. The work puts strong emphasis on use of single anatomical locking plate instead of dual plating whenever possible. Tibia plateau fracture is an area that is still much debated and discussed, but detailed statistical analysis of various outcome parameters is necessary. Observation & Analysis chapter of the book have illustrated graphical presentation of data and results are proven statistically. Treating tibial plateau fractures with lateral locking plates is still relatively new treatment concept, so assessing the results and comparing them to previous techniques is important. The outcomes should help shed some light on sufficiency of single Anatomical locking plates. It will guide post-graduate students as well as practicing orthopaedic surgeons.
