The Voorlees Express

Theory essentially holds, that the more capital one posses'', the more they will prosper within modern society. The Voorlees Express is a reading project in the Netherlands designed for children and since it''s introduction in 2006 the project has worked to ease some of the socio-cultural challenges associated with becoming an increasingly globalized nation. Recently receiving national media attention, a visit from the Dutch Princess Maxima and the 2010 European Language-Label Award (Europees Talenlabel) for innovative language education, it is concluded in this sociological investigation that the Voorlees Express is indeed a favorable starting point for non-native Dutch people to increase their levels of both social and cultural capital.
