The EU's Involvement in the Peace Process between Palestine and Israel

The European Union seeks to play more constructive and effective role in the peace process between Palestine and Israel but the EU¿s ability to play such a role is still questioned, controversial and puzzling due to some constrains. This book intends and aims to identify the mechanisms and instruments of the EU's involvement in the peace process between Palestine and Israel and to analyze how these mechanisms and instruments could affect the peace process and the EU's role. It also intends to show how these instruments have been used within the context of European Union¿s policy towards the Palestinian-Israeli peace process. This book seeks also to explore whether these mechanisms could lead EU to play a bigger role or could not. The Union's commitment towards an enduring and peaceful solution for the Palestinian Israeli conflict, gives the EU opportunity to find out whether the EU's mechanisms and instruments can make a positive impact and thus increase the Union's chances to become main actor in the Palestinian Israeli conflict settlement.
