The European Union and Turkey

European integration is a complicated and multifaceted process, the beginning of which dates back to the middle of the last century, while its final destination is still undefined. Since the first steps of unification of Western Europe, this process has significantly influenced not only the members of the integration grouping and the European states, but also the system of international relations as a whole. The stages of European Union (EU) enlargement have influenced the image of the European continent and each country separately. On the threshold of the modern EU for several decades now is Turkey, a country perceived by many as alien to European values. But the future of this supranational entity and the vector of the Union's further development depends on the adoption of a final decision regarding Turkey's membership in the EU.
