Textile Testing

“Textile Testing” describes and explains all relevant methods for testing fibers, yarns, textiles, and textile end products from the areas of clothing, carpets, and technical textiles. Numerous photos and schematic drawings as well as details of the relevant test equipment manufacturers supplement each chapter. Furthermore, the basics of statistical test planning and evaluation are explained, supplemented with numerous practical examples. The topics of “standards” and “climate” are also covered and the basics of quality management and the corresponding QM systems are explained. Finally, changes in the business landscape are highlighted against the background of Industry 4.0. This includes the digitalization of test laboratories, new job profiles, and new business models. The implementation of machines and testing systems is also covered, as are modern software and laboratory information systems, e.g. based on AI.
