Teaching Approaches of English in Education

Pandit Nehru said ¿English is our major window on the modern world¿. Its importance as an international language can be denied by none. For this our reasons are as follows. 1.International importance: English claims to be the first rate international language. It is the most widely spoken language in the word. It is the mother tongue of nearly 320 million people and another 200 million people use it as their second language. So it is useful to establish international relational for communication purpose and for the exchange of views with different countries of world. 2.Educational Importance: English is a direct medium of acquiring knowledge of modern arts, science, humanities, technology etc. It is equally important for statesmen, politicians, doctors, engineers, educationists, businessmen, and research workers. They enrich their knowledge and experience by reading books available only in English language. 3.Vocational Importance: English offers opportunities for many and varied vocational like diplomatic and foreign services, business, commerce, medicine, teaching, law etc. all over the world. 4.Cultural Importance: English widens one's cultural and intellectual horizon.
