The present work consists of a descriptive, retrospective and linear study carried out in the intensive care unit of the "Gral. Calixto García" University Hospital of patients diagnosed with potentially fatal asthma over a period of four years. The general objective of this study was to characterise mechanical ventilation in these patients. In this study, the place of intubation and initiation of mechanical ventilation, the type of ventilation applied to these patients, the most frequent asthma pattern, the use or not of sedation and sedation/relaxation, the most frequent complications and the isolated germs are fundamentally presented.
