It questions the relevance of African indigenous traditional leadership to economic development and the judicial role of indigenous leaders. It develops uses of African indigenous systems for modern governance as well as finds how traditional indigenous systems can be integrated with modern governance. Finally it seeks to develop new theories and practical guidelines for managers. The book has a detailed theorisation of strategic leadership in Africa generally and Botswana in particular. Sixteen theories on the impact of indigenous structures on modern governance were developed. The book also contributes researched practical step by step strategic leadership tools that can be used at individual, group, organizational strategic planning levels e.g for family, political party, church, business etc. Strategic leadership and direction at individual level is seen as important for organizational strategic leadership.
