Stormwater Management in the Tropics: A Review

The effect of soil erosion and sedimentation that are generated due to construction on the ambient water bodies has long been a subject of concern in Malaysia and worldwide. This book covers a range of issues related to the development of an expert system that aims to minimise the erosion and sedimentation due to stormwater in construction sites as well as the application of the Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) and the Geographic Information System (GIS). Eight key topics of literatures were reviewed and summarised in this book which includes erosion and sedimentation during construction, prediction of soil loss and sediment yield, erosion and sedimentation control, water quality standard in Malaysia, erosion and sediment control plan, life cycle cost of BMPs, expert systems, and finally MCA.
