Socio-economic impact of Kavumu National Airport activities

This work raises the fact that the airport of KAVUMU, beyond the fact that it surrounds the majority of the population of BUGORHE, also has harmful effects: 69.7% assert that the noise caused by the landing and takeoff of aircraft constitute a danger for the health of the surrounding populations; and in the same order of idea 16.80% assert that the airport is a source of insecurity for the environment following the noise of large aircraft or Antonov. Finally, regarding the income of the population and the consumption of products from elsewhere, 28.82% of respondents said that KAVUMU airport or at least the activities they carry out there allow them to increase their income and meet their needs and 26.07% of respondents said that the airport allows them to consume certain products from elsewhere. Hence, this reason leads us to affirm that Kavumu National Airport contributes to the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the population of Bugorhe by allowing them to receive consumer products from elsewhere that are rare in this area.
