The issue of real estate developers being socially responsible has taken more than one dimension in recent years. Some developers believe that performing corporate social responsibilities is enough to merit the accolade, socially-responsible real estate developer. Other real estate developers are of the view that adhering to legal requirements is all that the developer needs to do, in order to be considered as a socially responsible real estate developer. The facts are that, there are variations in legal requirements in different countries. Legal requirements in developing countries are not the same for developed countries in most cases.
