Education is a process of learning by which the individuals obtain knowledge, build up values, acquire skills, enhance culture, foster creativity and develop personality. It unveils all the inherent talents of an individual. From time immemorial the approach to this process has undergone lots of improvements. It has travelled from the teacher-centeredness to child-centeredness, from behaviourism to pragmatism. The advancements in science and technology are acting as catalyst in the change process of education. This widens the scope of pedagogy. Information and Communication Technology caters to the hardware and software requirements of the educational practices. The chalk boards are replaced by Interactive White Boards in our classrooms. Man to machine, and machine to man communication are added to the classroom communication. The advanced classrooms are equipped with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) facilities. All the efforts are to find better ways for ensuring high efficiency learning practices.
