Shared decision-making

Shared Decision Making (SDM) is an important part of physiotherapy to promote the independence and personal responsibility of patients in therapy and to enable them to play an active role in the therapist-patient relationship. SDM involves a decision for or against a certain treatment, which is made by the therapist together with the patient on the basis of shared information. This shared approach can, among other things, improve the patient's knowledge of the disease or satisfaction. This book, however, analyzes the extent to which SDM can actually influence the therapeutic outcomes and especially the health outcomes of adult patients in physiotherapy. This leads to the following central question: "What influence does SDM have on the health outcomes of adult patients in physical therapy?
