Drug-dependent individuals show automatic approach tendencies towards substance-related stimuli. This approach bias plays a major role in the development and maintenance of nicotine dependence. The aim of the current study was to investigate whether computer-triggered cognitive bias modification training can modify the approach bias to smoking stimuli as well as smoking behaviour in healthy adult smokers.
