Cleft lip and palate is an anomaly of many dimensions that affects the child and parents from the beginning. Individuals born with craniofacial irregularities that affect facial presence are thought to experience increased susceptibility to psychological difficulties throughout the life. Numerous physiological and sociocultural factors contribute in the development of psychosocial problems among persons with any form of facial irregularity in general.
