Psychiatric Disorders in Postpartum Period

To be a mother is a great dream which all girls have since their childhood till they become adolescents, maternal distinct is the one of the most wonderful secrets of GOD in human beings. So, it was necessary to try understanding the critical periods of pregnancy and puerperium in women life, in a trial to help women to enjoy with their maternity in a healthy way. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence, risk factors, clinical presentation, and complications of postpartum psychiatric disorders and the correlation between psychosocial stressors and postpartum psychiatric disorders. This study was conducted on 250 women in their postpartum period who were recruited from Kfr El-Zayat General Hospital (Gharbia Governorate).
