The study compares single- and multi-strain probiotics on laying performance and egg quality for 26 weeks (26¿51 weeks), with seven treatments of six replications each arranged in a randomized block design. Traits were egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, shape index, shell thickness, albumen index, yolk index, Haugh unit, and proportions of egg contents. Dietary supplementation of both single- and multi-strain probiotics positively affected laying performance and most of the egg quality characteristics, especially shell thickness and Haugh unit of commercial layers.
