Beschreibung
The Prix Ars Electronica is the most internationally renowned competition for works at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Held annually since 1987, it is now considered the competition with the highest prize money, and the approximately 4,000 entries it receives each year from more than 100 countries attest to the dynamism of international media art. With numerous images, texts, and statements from the jury, the book brings together the works that were honored in 2026 in the categories New Animation Art, Interactive Art+, Digital Humanity, and u19–create your world.
The book also includes a “Best of” selection from the S+T+ARTS Prize, commissioned by the European Commission. This highly endowed competition focuses on innovative projects at the intersection of science, technology, and the arts (= Science, Technology, and ARTS). The AI for Social Impact Initiative, launched for the first time in cooperation with CARE Austria, is also featured in this catalog, and the winning projects are presented in detail alongside a statement from the jury.
