Preventive Prosthodontics

As a dentist our main aim should be prevention which not only includes avoidance of caries and or periodontal disease but also stoppage of residual alveolar bone loss after teeth are extracted. Today with greater stress on preventive measures, the dental profession has expanded this preventive concept into Prosthodontics. Preventive Prosthodontics emphasises the importance of any procedure that can delay or eliminate the future Prosthodontic problems and stop further progression of oral disease, preventing the loss of remaining tissues and also include procedures employed in practice of dentistry and community dental health programs, which prevent the occurrence of oral diseases and oral abnormalities at various levels of prevention.
