Thus chapters 4 and 5 in this book offer a mathematical in approach, and are aimed chiefly at the readers who are directly involved in process design and optimization: but these two chapters will also help the more general reader gain an insight in the underlying principles and the strengths and limitations of the various approaches.
All chapters in this second edition have seen major revisions to account for new technologies, recent developments and latest literature.
