Pharmacological study Of Mucuna Species On Neuroprotactive Activity

This book entitled ¿Pharmacological study of Mucuna species on neuroprotactive Activity¿ comprises a brief study of Phytochemical & Pharmacological analysis of Mucuna Preriens & M. Monosperma on neuroprotactive activity. These two species are compared in Ayurveda as ¿kapikachhu.¿ The property of kapikachhu is already proved as nerve tonic in Ayurvedic texts. The details descriptions of both the species are explained in Ayurveda as well as Botany. Experimental study was done on Wister strain albino rats as neuroprotactive effects by bilateral common carotid artery occlusion. An attempt is made to differentiate potency of both species with the help of various methods carried out by Pharmacological & Histopathological study. On the whole study shows M. Pruriens has carried out better effect to compare M. Monosperma species. Here an attempt to evaluate neuroprotactive effects of both species as kapikachhu.
