Pedal Operated Pumping System

Water lifting pump to utilize the human power for lifting the water to a tank and with the help of this stored water such as pond, well, canal and tank etc. Operating a drip irrigation system without electricity is a challenge. Lifting water to a raised platform require muscle power while pedal operated water pumping system is eco-friendly and water pump works on mechanical energy without electricity. Gravity drip system of irrigation is gaining popularity for urban kitchen garden or for small areas. Precise irrigation management is vital as the availability of fresh water is decreasing day by day but its demand in agriculture is increasing to cater the ever increasing demand of crop production. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt some water and nutrient saving irrigation system to irrigate more area with less water. The pump is operating at a suction head of 1 m and the delivery head of 2.25 m which gave the discharge of 0.5 lps (1800 lph) to fill the tank of 750 litres which takes 25-30 minutes for a average human being.This tank is used to operate a gravity drip system of irrigation to irrigate the area of 100 square meter plot.
