A variety of obturating materials like zinc oxide eugenol, calcium hydroxide, iodoform pastes, antibiotic pastes and combination of different materials are present for obturation of primary teeth. The main requisite for primary tooth obturating material is resorbability. In conclusion it can be stated that there is no known ideal root canal filling material for primary teeth. Hence it is recommended to conduct further studies using various compositions and combinations of these obturating materials. More histopathologic studies as well as long term clinical studies are recommended.
