NUTRITION OF VEGETABLE PLANTS

Nutrition and fertilization of agricultural crops, especially in horticulture, are of paramount importance for the good productive performance of crops. The species cultivated in horticulture have a rapid development cycle, so the response of plant nutrition should be fast, to maximize their absorption and utilization of available nutrients. Fertilizers are mineral or organic substances, natural or synthetic, providing one or more plant nutrients responsible for good growth and development of plants. Fertilizers can be applied basically in three ways: directly to the soil, through fertigation and by spraying the aboveground part of the plants, in the form of foliar fertilization.
