Molecular Basis of Odontogenic Tumors

This book is based on molecular profiling of Odontogenic tumors, which are distinct pathologic entity, require in depth understanding of their molecular and histogenetic origin to be applied in producing accurate diagnosis with meaningful prognostic indication. Molecular profiling should be considered to define a tumor and correlated in terms of origin, cell behaviour, diagnostic and prognostic outcome. Comprehensive evaluation of genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic and metabolic profile of these tumors could help us to refine the understanding of these tumors and forms the epitome for further research. These lesions should now be seen from their molecular aspect rather than just their histogenetic, histopathologic or clinicopathological aspect alone. Molecules could help us delineate the boundaries between different tumour entities and further help in objectively refining the understanding of these lesions.
