Non cavitated lesion can be reversed to some extent and cavitated lesion can be restored conservatively with the advent of concept of minimally invasive dentistry. Every attempt should be made to preserve the tooth structure by applying the concept of minimally invasive treatment approach. Initially, treatment of dental caries included use of rotary instruments for removing the diseased tooth structure and was restored with appropriate restorative material. With the advent of new diagnostic techniques and new innovative instruments and adhesive restorative materials, minimally invasive approach for conserving the tooth structure was made possible. This book will enlighten us about the principles, diagnosis of early caries lesions, minimally invasive operative care and techniques employed. Each and every dentist should employ this concept of minimal intervention dentistry to save the tooth structure and to ultimately increase the life time of tooth to serve the function.
