Mine induced seismicity and ground vibrations caused by mine tremors

The work presents the results of research aiming to find effective prediction methods of seismic hazards along the panel lengths of the ongoing and planned mining works. There was presented the possibility use of statistics, analytical and empirical methods for prediction of induced seismicity. High-energy tremors often are a source of the strongly felt surface vibrations. There were also discussed the methods of assessment of ground vibrations accelerations. Particular emphasis was placed on determination of the amplification coefficient and directivity of ground vibrations¿ propagation. Author has also written about the use of artificial neural networks for the prediction of seismic hazard and magnitude of ground vibration.
