Microfinance and Poverty Reduction

Unhindered access to credit facilities and other financial services has changed many lives around the world.Microfinance and Poverty Reduction examines major policy challenges to economic development in Ghana and how the West African country sustains rapid economic growth by funding Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMES). The book explores policy initiatives implemented to reduce multidimensional poverty through socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable strategies. Using his vast experience in research, the author analysed different types of microfinance schemes to ascertain the effectiveness of poverty reduction policies implemented in Ghana. More importantly, the book proffers possible solutions to micro and macro-economic problems constraining performance of lending institutions.
