This book is, therefore, critically discusses the views of positivism and post-positivism on nature of scientific reasoning with special reference to the problem of justification of scientific law propositions and the problem of methodological unity of natural science through a critical dialogue of various contemporary philosophers on the issues. The first half of the twentieth century is dominated by positivist. Positivists debunked the whole of traditional philosophy by attacking metaphysics which was the most important branch of Philosophy. Metaphysics was so central to Philosophy that philosophy was virtually identified with metaphysics.The second half of the book is to introduce you to view of the two great thinkers- Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn regarding the nature of science.Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn are the most important philosophers of science who shaped much of the current thinking on science. Both showed how flawed was the positivist philosophy of science. Philosophy of Science as a frontier area of research today owes a great deal to them.
