Medicinal Plants of Oloolua

Of all parasitic diseases, Malaria remains not only the greatest killer but also the most widespread particularly in Africa and the tropics. From Quinine to arteminisins, herbal medicine has proved useful in the development of effective conventional antimalarial drugs. This work describes the antiplsmodial effects of some medicinal plants from Oloolua Forest Kenya against the rodent malaria parasite, Plasmodium berghei and the Fifth human malaria parasite, Plasmodium knowlesi. Relevant protocols in herbal medicine and cell culture have been lucidly described and illustrated, making it ease to follow. The results have been quantitatively depicted and discussed. I have no slightest doubt this book will be of direct benefit to students of Biomedical and Biological Sciences, as well as those in Pharmacognosy and herbal Practitioners.
