This research was conducted with the aim to discover what happened to fatherhood in a traditional and patriarchal society like Serbia, to explore how the ¿old¿ and ¿new¿ understandings of fatherhood in Serbia are differing, and what are the main reasons of the change. In addition, analyzing positive legal regulations, I tried to ascertain whether parents have equal rights, duties, and responsibilities regarding children and to examine the change of fatherhood through laws and policies supported by the Serbian Government.
