Management and protection of the Moroccan Cultural Heritage

Heritage is considered today as a key element in the process of sustainable development of countries. Buildings must be restored, not for the pleasure of keeping them, but to bring them to life, even if it means giving them a new function. Heritage, as a construction of identity, is a work of civilization in its creation of a cultural narrative for each region of the country. The built heritage, to speak only of this aspect of the question, embodies our cultural identity and reveals the different civilizational moments that constitute the history and culture of our country. This heritage is certainly cultural, but it also represents potential material wealth. If it were enhanced, if it were subject to management integrated into sustainable development programs, it could ¿boost¿ economic, social and tourist promotion, whether local or regional. Heritage has become a global affair under the aegis of Unesco. Cultural trips have multiplied in gigantic proportions. The historic city is a monument, whose active populations are hunted for the benefit of tourists.
