Malicious use of Artificial Intelligence and International Psychological Security- an Indian Perspective

Humanity including people in command positions entrusted with the responsibility of taking high level strategic decisions are finding it difficult to comprehend rapidly changing economic, social and political realities and in the domain of technology the rate of change is too fast for humans to cope with its likely impact on social process now difficult to imagine.As the spatial and technological differences between military and civilian domains is getting diminished information warfare strategies are now being used far regularly in the civilian space, with the only likely response being an urgent increase in the capabilities of civilian actors to military grade to level the operational space. Big data analysis, family of technologies loosely referred to as Artificial intelligence, machine learning, prognostic weapons have taken influence operations to qualitatively new level as the scale and size of operations can now be increased at a relatively low cost and from Indian perspective with a very vulnerable civilian populations the costs may be very difficult to comprehend.
