Lean Product Development

This book addresses the application of lean concepts from a new perspective. The main concern of the book is to further discover the Japanese lean concept and the possible benefits from adopting them in other areas like product development. The authors as a first step present the characteristics of lean product development processes found from the literature and its position today. The following chapters document the attempts made by the authors in an international company to support the development of a model which is to be utilized for implementing lean concepts in product development processes. The book concludes with concerns which are of great importance and should be considered while implementing lean concepts and how this can best be achieved.
