Latin Piano Duets

This set of Latin-style piano duets may be regarded as a collection of six individual pieces but has been composed so that more substantial performances may be given by combining them into two little suites: 'Beguine', 'Slow Tango' and 'Conga' from the first suite and 'Bossa Nova' 'Habanera' and 'Samba' form the second. Although written without any intention of capturing the definitive form of each of the dances, these duets exploit some of the mannerisms of popular Latin styles and are intended simply to provide enjoyment for performers and listeners alike. Those duettist who are looking for a more equal partnership in their playing will find that although the exact nature of their respective parts may differ, each player will find themselves musically and technically, equally challenged.
