Land Use and Land Use Planning

The soil is the largest and most chemically active reactor at the earth¿s surface. Therefore, it has an enormous effect in controlling plant growth and the quality of the environment in which we live. The objective of this book is to supply basic information how to classify land based on its land use types. Land evaluation is the selection of suitable land, and suitable cropping, irrigation and management alternatives that are physically and financially practicable and economically viable. Sustainable agriculture would be achieved if lands can be categorized and utilized based upon their different uses. Therefore this book helps farmers, agricultural investors and decision makers in planning the rural development, moreover, it will be used as a reference material for school of graduate students.
