Judicial &Legislative Intervention in Nigerian Customary Intestacy Law

The object of this book is not a mere narration of the indigenous laws of intestate succession in Nigeria. The purpose is to examine the implications of such practices of intestacy; pointing out its various shortcomings and virtues especially when examined against the backdrop of statutory provisions and judicial decisions affecting intestacy in Nigeria. This book intends to turn a legal searchlight on the application of certain customary law rules on intestacy, thereby highlighting the problems and issues arising therefrom. This book therefore generally considers the concerns of intestate succession under customary law in Nigeria and how the law has met these concerns.
