INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

Pests are organisms that can damage and destroy the crops. They cause a significant decrease in plant growth, plant density, lower production capacity, as well as the crop yield or orchard products. Recently, farmers chose unconventional approaches such as microbial pesticides, biological control, genetic modification, pest behavior and plant defenses of the pest density to protect their crops. The main techniques for controlling pests around the world have been recognized as Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Inspection and monitoring are used in IPM programmes to decide pest control approaches independently. Integrated pest management (IPM) have been classified into many approaches such as: Legislative control, Agricultural Control, Physical (Mechanical) Control, Behavior control, Biological Control, Biological pathogens (Microbial Control), Plant extracts (green pesticides) and final can use Chemical Control.
