INM in the SRI Techniques for Kharif Rice

Agronomy is the mother branch of Agricultural sciences which studies on scientific soil bed preparation for effective crop cultivation, enriching soil fertility and plant nutrients. It deals essentially with all aspects of soil, crop growth and development and water management to increase crop productivity for better food security of the growing population around the world. Economic use of irrigation water is a vital step for profitable crop production. As a cereal crop rice is a staple food in most of the Asian countries and it takes greater amount of irrigation water for its cultivation and fertilizer application. System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is an agronomical cultivation of rice by using proper spacing technique for better use of soil nutrients, water and organic manures. Combination of Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and SRI has outstanding possibilities of saving water, organic produce and management of soil fertility status.
