Indian Economic Policies through E-Governance and Digital Divide

With diverse but disjoint e-governance programmes, the seeds of a digitally connected India were sown in the early 90s. With an unprecedented mandate and a clear vision, the current government is pushing ahead the Digital India initiative, which has the potential to transform the lives of citizens across the length and breadth of the country. Technology is key to the vision of a Digital India and Social Media, Mobility, Analytics, Cloud etc. are the foundations that will enable the Digital India visions of providing governance and support the social inclusion schemes being launched by the government. The Digital India initiative will, over the next few years, extend the reach of government services and essential schemes to the remotest parts of the country. The present volume is a step in the direction of providing a detailed study of Indian Economic Policies through E-Governance and the Digital Divide.
